This morning we caught up on our sleep, not arising until after 9:00am.
The day was spent visiting the magnificent Burgos Cathedral (where we had our credentials stamped), climbing up to the Castillo (site of the unsuccessful siege by Wellington), and wandering around the streets.
Kate has an affinity with bronzes and has now been photographed beside each and every one of them with the exception of the pilgim in front of the Cathedral. That photograph will be taken later today or in the morning before we leave.
Paul arrived this evening and will accompany me on the remainder of my journey into Santiago de Compostela.
The city is full of visitors, tourists and pilgrims. Yesterday afternoon we visited the Albergue Municipal de Peregrinos and found all 120 available beds to be filled and it was a similar situation today,- Consequently Paul found finding accommodation more difficult than expected.
What a cheerful spring day! Everyone happy… even Paul, who must have found accommodation of some kind, otherwise you would have had to photograph him homeless on the steps of the Cathedral.
