Albergue Camino Primitivo, Berducedo, Colinas de Arriba to Berducedo, 21.5 Km 23 May 2025

After a disappointing breakfast at our Albergue we were on the road at 7:20am. There are 2 routes to Berducedo, the low route via Pola de Allande and the Hospitals route (the high route)
As the Hospitals route is 4.5 kilometres shorter than the low one we decided for that option. Unfortunately our Albergue was on the low route requiring a 2 kilometres climb to reach our path.
While the climbs today were not as strenuous as those on the San Salvador they were long and continuous.
The weather was good and as we were above the tree line for most of the day the views were spectacular.
Phil arrived in Berducedo at 1:00pm and I followed him in 20 minutes later. Phil if faster uphill than I am and a much quicker descending.
The Albergue we are staying in is nice although it is full with 24 pilgrims in the room tonight.
