Albergue Casa Sanchez, Grandas de Salime. Berducedo to Grandas, 20.7 Km, 23 May 2025

The day started with a small uphill from Berducedo before a nice gentle down hill into La Mesa where we obtained breakfast at the Albergue at an inflated price. Breakfast is usually around €4.00, but today the price was €6.00.
After La Mesa there was steep uphill for around 2.0 kilometres before heading down to Embalse de Salime (water reservoir) in the valley. From Embalse it was uphill again until our destination at Grandas de Salime.
The scenery today and the tracks (with the exception of the bitumen roads) was some of the beast encountered so far.
On arrival at our Albergue we found that they had cancelled our booking. Luckily I had my request for a reservation and acceptance on email and eventually we were provided with beds.
After showering and washing some clothes we had an excellent menu del dia (menu of the day) in a very busy restaurant full with the usual noisy locals.
