Today we were on the road as usual just after 7:00am. Breakfast was a stale bocodillo (bread roll with ham) procured the night before.
The 16 Km walk on sandy tracks and roads to Valdestillas was very pleasant through forests of pines, fields of wheat and barley and vegetable crops.
At one place we had to wade across a causeway in water up to our knees and just before Valdestillas we saw two deer in a field of wheat.
The remaining 9 Km of the walk was unpleasant following a straight bitumen road into Puente Duero. Initially we were walking on the road verge followed by a very narrow ankle twisting goat track. To add to the unpleasantness just before Puente Duero it rained heavily.
On arrival we checked into the Albergue, showered and found a nice restaurant for a late afternoon lunch.
At the moment our destination for tomorrow is uncertain as it appears that the accommodation at our proposed destination is closed.

I think you rate cities by the number of stork nests?
Find any bottles in the causeway Phil. Sounds like the breakfast wasn't much. Keep on tracking. Cheers Mal
