Last night our Municipal Albergue at Grado was full. Sixteen pilgrims in 8 bunks plus 2 overflow pilgrims (one injured) sleeping on stretchers in the common area.

A pleasant evening was spent with our Scottish (kilt wearing) hospitalario who preferred hanging out with a couple of Australians to caring for the other 18 residents.

For the first time this year we encountered some serious snoring. This was not really an issue as we were tired and have developed an ability to ignore any extraneous noise.

Unfortunately some of the residents decided that 5:30am was the time to arise and managed to do it with noise simalar to a small herd of wild elephants wielding flash lights.

Our hospitalario provided an excellent breakfast for everyone and we were finally on the road around 7:30am.

The day started with a 300 meter climb over the first 5 kilometres. For Phil and I it was a much easier climb than those encountered a few days earlier on the San Salvador.

The tracks encountered during the day were in better condition than those on the Salvador although there were some muddy sections (due to overnight rain) and sections where the path doubled as a stream.

Conditions were overcast all day making for pleasant walking through small farms and areas of native bushland.

Tonight we are staying in a private Albergue in Salas which is a step up from last nights Municipal at Grado.

As accommodation is becoming an issue we have booked the next 2 nights in Tineo and Collinas de Arriba. If we can keep booking a couple of nights ahead we should not have any problems.
