As today was a rest day in Oviedo and we did not get out of bed until 8:30. The morning was spent doing some very much needed washing, purchasing a replacement walking pole and sorting out our Spanish SIM cards for our phones.

Around midday we headed back into the city and wandered through the old town visiting the a magnificent church, the mecardo and the Saturday street market where we had a drink at a bar with the locals.

We were entertained by local bands with bagpipes marching through the streets. Unfortunately they seemed to have only one tune that they repeatedly played over and over.

We then headed further away from the old centre and found a nice cafe/bar where we could have the usual late Spanish lunch.

Tomorrow it is back to walking again. It will be our first day on the Camino Primitivo and we have no idea what to expect apart from more pilgrims than we have walked with previously.
