Today is a rest day and the first item on our agenda was to do some washing. Finding the laundromat was easy compared to figuring out how to operate the washing machine and dryer.

After the washing was completed and breakfast out of the way we headed to the tourist office to have our credentials stamped and for a map of all the Auch attractions.

We visited the cathedral, the historic section of the town and the Marie. (Town Hall)

Another place of interest, before pre-dinner drinks, was the Museum of the French Resistance. The residents of Auch were very brave and, with their support, the allies freed France.

The hotel we stayed in - “The Hotel de France” was the nazi headquarters during the occupation in 1944. It’s been upgraded since then to three stars! Very comfortable for a group of ‘pelerins’.

While waiting for the chef to arrive at the Bodega we had targeted for dinner, we stopped by an amazing toy shop - three floors with an unimaginable assortment of children’s toys (we even found a replica of Freddy), a 24,000 piece jigsaw, toy washing machines, expresso coffee machines , etc etc
