Hotel Palicio de Merás, Tineo, Salas to Tineo 19.8 Km, 20 May 2025

After a interrupted nights sleep due to a some late Spanish arrivals and a couple of snorers we were breakfasted and on the road just after 7:00am. As has become the norm we were immediately into a 350 meter climb over the first 5 kilometres. The climb was not so bad and nowhere near as difficult as the climbs that we recently encountered on the San Salvador.

The Way today was a mixture of farm tracks, sealed pavement and walking paths through native forest and dairy farms with lots of pretty views across to the mountains. Overall it was pleasant walking apart from the many mud holes that we had to negotiate.

Tonight we are staying in a very pleasant Albergue which is part of the the Hotel Palicio in Tineo. The bunk beds are in cubicles and are excellent. It would be nice if every Albergue adopted this design as standard.
