As today was to be a shorter day we unsuccessfully tried to sleep in. Unfortunately not everyone in the room for 14 had the same idea. Eventually we were forced out of bed by the noise, packed and headed downstairs for our pre paid breakfast of 2 slices of toast, orange juice, coffee and a small cake for €5.00 (€3.50 anywhere else).

As usual we started off in mist until the sun burnt it off around 8:30.

The walk today was relatively short, quite pretty although much of the way was on bitumen roads.

We were able to stop for a couple of breaks at bars along the way for refreshments. As the sun was well and truly out the ice cream at the second bar was much appreciated.

As we are less than 100 kilometres from Santiago we have now been joined by many more pilgrims trying to earn their Compostela for the minimum of effort (walking the prescribed 100 kilometres).

Arriving in Melide we have completed the Camino Primitivo and will be on the Camino Francis for our final 3 days of walking.

We are staying tonight in a small hotel off the main pilgrim route. It is family run and served a great 3 course lunch for €13.00.

Tomorrow we will join the 1690+ pilgrims walking down the Camino Francis into Santiago.
