Today was spent wandering around Toulouse visiting the usual tourist sites.

We started the day with a tour of the market and as usual the French did not disappoint. Everything was well presented including cheeses, meats, (including chavel), vegetables, fish together with breads and pastries.

We than visited the tourist office in the Donjon du Capitole, walked past the Capitole (closed due to a power outage) before doing a circuit around the two bridges across the La Garonne river and visiting the cathedral (under restoration).

In the afternoon we walked to the Basilique St Sernin before visiting the Japanese garden. From the garden we walked back to our hotel along the Canal de Midi.

Late afternoon we were joined by Jane and Paul who arrive by train from Paris. They were due into Toulouse around midday but managed to miss their scheduled train and had to catch a later one. Obviously missing the train was Paul’s fault.

After short walk around the old centre we found a nice bar for our first drink and another for a Tapas type evening meal. The weather is excellent and great for outside eating and drinking.

On arrival back at hotel we found that our missing packs had returned from their seperate holiday without us. It is good to have the concern in regard to their whereabouts out of the way.
