Municipal Albergue. Coca, Santa Maria la Real de Nieva to Coca, 24 Km, 3 May 2025

As we only had a short walk today we decided to have breakfast at the Hostal at 8.00 am before heading out. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open at the published time so we headed off hungry. Breakfast consisting of a Kit Kat and a small bottle of fruit juice was found at a Srevice Station a couple of kilometres down the road.

The walk today was flat through pine forests and cereal crops passing through only 2 towns.

Eventually we found an open bar in Nava de la Asuncion where we could get a drink and a slice of tortilla.

Arriving at our albergue was easy although getting in was difficult. The albergue has an online registration system that has to be completed before you can access the door key.

Once the system was sorted we dropped our packs and headed out unsuccessfully looking for lunch. The time required to achieve access to the albergue had made us too late for an afternoon meal.

After a couple of beers and a tour of the Coca castle, we returned to the albergue to find that there is no hot water for a shower.

Hopefully things will improve this evening and tomorrow is a new day that will come with it’s own share of surprises.
