Last night we all slept well until Paul decided that the curtains should be opened and the shutter raised.
After packing the day started with coffee and croissants at the local patisserie before heading out of town equipped with enough food to feed an army for a week.
The first half of the walk was pleasant on tree lined roads past fields of sunflower, corn and rape seed waiting to be harvested.
Then it commenced to rain and continued on and off until we reached our destination. At one point we stood under the shelter of several oak trees for well over half an hour waiting for the rain to lessen. We then had to contend with a muddy and slippery track alongside the La Save river. The mud was a special recipe that fastens itself to the soles of our boots.
We arrived at our destination wet, muddy and an inch taller. A hot shower and dry clothes revived us and the trials of the day were soon forgotten.
Later we walked into town for a drink and to buy supplies for an evening meal which was prepared by Jane.
Hoping for better weather and less mud tomorrow.

Looks like fun I would love it 🤣🤣
